Andy Peters – Competitor and official Primal Games Referee
Andy Peters is well-known at the Primal Games. You might have seen him as an active competitor at the Primal Games, winning a gold medal in the elite division, or as a referee overseeing the matches.
The 20th of May Andy will be present at the Primal Games as the tournament strikes down in Sittard – Geleen. The place where Andy runs his own gym, www.ftma.nl, and where his team is getting ready for some epic Primal Games matches.
We’ve asked Andy some questions about the tournament and his role as a referee:
How do you experience the Primal Games?
Awesome tournament! Getting better every year. Always stoked to coach my students, compete myself or help the organization as a referee.
What appeals to you in the function of a referee at the Primal Games?
It’s a fun job since I love the sport of grappling and you get to see the matches right in front of you! 😛
What do you consider important as a referee during the tournament?
I think as a referee it’s very important that you know the rules and make sure all the competitors/fighters obey these rules. By doing so we as referees can try to make sure everybody fights fair play and hopefully injury free.
